US Global Investors increases its share buyback program

San Antonio, TX, Feb. 25 Feb. 20, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — US Global Investors, Inc. (NASDAQ: GROW) (the “Company”), a registered investment advisory firm with extensive experience in global markets and specialty sectors, is pleased to announce that it has increased the limit of its annual share buyback program by 82%, from $2.75 million to $5 million.

As before, the company strategically buys back shares on down days using an algorithm. The decision to increase the amount is to complete two increases to the Company’s monthly dividend, one in February 2021 and another in October 2021. The dividend payout is up 50% from a year ago. The maximum amount of capital committed to redeem shares is up more than 80% to $5 million for the calendar year.

“The increase in the buyback program reflects the Board’s continued confidence in the Company’s financial strategy. The directors believe that the Company is undervalued relative to other asset managers based on a number of fundamental factors, including return on assets and return on equity. The board believes it is prudent to increase dividends and share buybacks while reserving capital to be able to launch new smart beta products such as the US Global Sea to Sky Cargo (SEA) ETF . Additionally, the company is debt free,” says Frank Holmes, company CEO and chief investment officer.
